Are we sure this will happen at midnight?

Anonymous said...

YES. Check the acl website...

www.aclfest.com

Do you really think they would tell us it would be release at 12:01 am Thursday if it weren't true?

Especially with the rabidness of ACL fans????

9 hours!!!

Anonymous said...

they will sell one day passes eventually right? i can't remember what month they come out....anyone remember? thanks in advance

Anonymous said...

maybe its just a marketing ploy, but acl is saying they will sell 1-day passes only if the 3-days dont sell out. but they havent said how long they'll wait to make the decision.

Lineup will not be posted at midnight. Just a hunch.

Anonymous said...

It even says 12:01 at aclfest.com

Anonymous said...

it's raining in austin right now so that might slow down the information release. information doesn't like rain. also it'll make the internet wires heavy and unable to transmit information. heavy, man, heavyyyy.....

Josh said...

Instead of a concert lineup, it will be a Austin police lineup to help solve crimes.

Anonymous said...

The website says 12:01. They are not going to miss it. And by the way, I'm in NYC and I still don't have the lineup....but i hope it includes CYHSY, Feist, Arcade Fire, and Of Montreal.

Wilco, The Killers, Arcade Fire--that leak earlier was indeed correct!

Fuck time zones.

Anonymous said...

So the rumors were right.

Anonymous said...

Muse is playing again?

Nice to see Patterson Hood (of Drive-By Truckers) getting a solo slot. Bummed about My Morning Jacket not being there, but I'm seeing them at Lolla. This is vastly improved over last year.

holy shit. i hope billy joe shaver is still a free man in september.

Anonymous said...

It's a great list (much better than last year)...but I'm disappointed because there wasn't a gigantic suprise like I thought there was going to be....Everybody guess Bob Dylan from the very beginning. Meh.

Anonymous said...

im excited to see M.I.A.

Anonymous said...

Yeah. A little anticlimactic. I was pulling for McCartney or something.

Anonymous said...

my morning jacket are in

Anonymous said...

My Morning Jacket is playing

Anonymous said...

no, they aren't.

Anonymous said...

Crowded House!!!! we gonna party like it's 1984.

Anonymous said...

Young Love!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

It looks like some ASSHOLE just added Eddie Vedder, Stevie Wonder, and Neil Young to the end of an otherwise legit list.

Anonymous said...

yes...My Morning Jacket is CONFIRMED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

YAY!!! it is better than last year.... it's not as good as two years ago when coldplay was there but it is still pretty good!! even though i'm not much of bob dylan fan.. I but am exicited to see him live...

Anonymous said...

So... you're saying, let me get this right.... Asleep at the Wheek is playing an Austin music festival?? What an amazing coup.

Anonymous said...

wheres kings of leon? i thought they were confirmed...

Anonymous said...

I don't understand why "everybody who knew the list in advance" was like TICKETS WILL SELL OUT AS SOON AS THE LINEUP IS REALEASED!!!!1111!!!!!11 and thought that it was going to be MAJOR surprise...

The 2nd tier acts are much, much better than last year, Bjork is an interesting twist (will stick around for her), but Bob Dylan I could take or lose...it's just not the same as seeing him years ago. I guess he's better than Tom Petty...

I should be complaining, it's a great list...I just wanted a ridiculous surprise!

Anonymous said...

Haha...Asleep at the Wheel and Wilco again...and again.

AT LEAST THERES NO BEN HARPER

Anonymous said...

This was bigger than Radiohead, Smashing Pumpkins, The Police, Eddie Vedder, etc? What a joke. This lineup sucks. Guess my wristband is for sale.

Anonymous said...

Seriously agree with the comment above.

Maybe I just won't be happy until Radiohead plays...

Anonymous said...

I was expecting something more too.

Anonymous said...

bob dylan better play like a rolling stone first so we can leave his grumpy ass early

Anonymous said...

Kings of Leon

I think the confirmation came during SXSW.

No doubt, they were probably booked. Remember that bands drop out along the way. Something probably came up.

Lest we forget, Muse was not on the original schedule last year, other bands on the original '06 list cancelled. The schedule released tonight will probably have a minor change or two before September.

Anonymous said...

seriously, what happened to the suprise? i hope bob dylan's set gets rained on like tom petty's did.

Anonymous said...

What a shitty surprise...Bob Dylan? Has he died yet?

Anonymous said...

When will Charles Attal actually follow through with a promise? He said better....we got worse

Anonymous said...

who is bob dylan?

Anonymous said...

I need to buy my grandma a ticket, she'll want to go

Anonymous said...

okay the headliners are not that cool... like they don't deserve to the be there like the white strips should not even be in the same line as bob dylan...and my morning jacket they are not headliners either..

Anonymous said...

Bjork has herpes, hopefully she'll drop out, and we can get a real headliner

Anonymous said...

"who is bob dylan?"

Bahahaha

"I need to buy my grandma a ticket, she'll want to go "

Hahahah I am dying here.

Anonymous said...

my grandpa is looking for a hot date....is your grandma single? they can make sweet love to the groanings of an old fart!

Anonymous said...

Who wants to picket outside of ACL this year with me?

Anonymous said...

They will need extra paramedics this year, maybe a podiatrist for the old people with bad feet, probably a mobile nursing home, extra wheel chairs would be a good idea too, i'll remember to put that on the survey

Anonymous said...

You people are all dumbasses. This lineup is awesome, and you'd bitch even if Radiohead were here. Be thankful we even have something like this in our city.

Anonymous said...

Bjork screeching Army of Me or some other garbage, and Dylan mumbling Highway 61 and/or killing Hendrix's Watchtower. The only thing that can save this lineup would be an appearance of "Soy Bomb".

Anonymous said...

Just added: Benny Goodman, Count Basie, and The Buddy Rich Big Band all playing on the new C3 1920's tent

Anonymous said...

I hope this is the last year of the festival, Austin is going to start getting a bad reputation for listening to bad music....www.youhavebadtasteinmusic.com

Anonymous said...

true this lineup is so for the 40+ crowd

Anonymous said...

Queens of the Stone Age, Joss Stone, Arctic Monkeys, My Morning Jacket, Blue October, Butch Walker, I can go on.... I guess it's Clerasil fest '07, brought to you by the fine folks at the new Q Morning Zoo, FM 107.7. Really, what the hell? "ACL Fest is not about two huge acts and 128 others," Attal says. No, it's about four huge bands for adults and 124 for 14 year-olds???

John_Meller said...

killing Hendrix's watchtower?

Dylan wrote the song, fool.

Anonymous said...

Man, UT had a better headliner for their 40 Acres Fest this year. I'd rather see Little Richard over Dylan anyday. MASHED POTATOES!

Anonymous said...

Who stays for the headliners anyway?

Anonymous said...

Charles Attal - "I think fans are more realistic this year, you should be pretty happy for paying $145." This lineup is worth MAYBE $39.50, service charges included.

Anonymous said...

I like how the site says "This one is for the history books."

It should go in the book as biggest let down EVER.

Anonymous said...

Here's the surprise: Attal will announce the booking of Glenn Miller's never found corpse. It was a tough get but is really appealing to the demographic he was apparently shooting for this year.
Heard it from a reliable source.

Anonymous said...

Jimmy Hoffa will be introducing Bob Dylan....you heard it here first

Anonymous said...

Too bad the actual people who will enjoy this lineup won't find out until morning since they are too old to figure out how to use a computer

Anonymous said...

It seems weird that this lineup is skewing so old/young, but not GOOD. I'll say it again, Queens of the fucking Stone Age? And Austin City Limits has always been a song venue....jesus.

Anonymous said...

BTW - Blue October's music is worse than stepping in a hot steaming pile of dog crap right before a first date with Jessica Alba.

Anonymous said...

Someone wake me from this nightmare. Anyone want to buy my 3-day pass. I'll sell it for $120 - what I should not have paid for it.

Anonymous said...

Where's the rap/R&B????? No Roots, Lupe Fiasco or Common??? What a let-down

Anonymous said...

Prepare for a vast sea of mullets with Corona tank-tops and cutoffs, and not on the people you'd like.

Anonymous said...

Now I really need to bring my ass over to Bonnaroo

Anonymous said...

Dear Other Anon,

Re: Hendrix/Dylan Watchtower

Do you enjoy the taste of hook? I knew I'd reel someone in.

Anonymous said...

I feel like I have been lied to. Attal told everyone was going to be bigger and better, this is not better

Anonymous said...

When will ACL get a band that the other festivals haven't gotten. Bob Dylan played Jazz Fest a few years ago, Tom Petty was at Bonnaroo. When will we a Radiohead like Bonnaroo, or a RATM like Coachella?

Anonymous said...

What a tasteless, shitty lineup. And I just booked my room today out of excitement. Yay.

Anonymous said...

This is hilarious. Everybody on the ACL forums are ecstatic and "OMG can't believe how amazing the lineup is!!"
BLEH.
I've seen every single band that i'd want to see already. Including Bob Dylan, Bjork, & the White Stripes

Anonymous said...

looks like i justed wasted $145...i will be lucky to sell this on ebay

Anonymous said...

well everyone on the ACL forum is about to be sent to bed by their moms. I can imagine the witty posts. "OMG, ACL is gonna be so fucking SEEN this year!!!"

And I know I'm still going to go. That's the brutal part.

Anonymous said...

WHERE THE HELL IS INTERPOL. DAMN!

Anonymous said...

You obviously aren't very familar with Queens of the Stone Age. They will blow everyone else out of the water.

Anonymous said...

"Too bad the actual people who will enjoy this lineup won't find out until morning since they are too old to figure out how to use a computer"

HAHAHAHHAA
too good

Anonymous said...

Well they can blow me out of the water when I'm half in the bag and stumble across the MTV music awards. My point is that ACL used to be about getting all the bands that other fests weren't. Now it's this strange analgam of third tier acts from random radio fests.

Anonymous said...

bjork and devotchka are the only two i haven't seen that i like. come on, queens of the stone age? fuck me.

Anonymous said...

As long as Crowded House sings the slow version of "Don't Dream It's Over" so I can slow dance with Tiffany Luperella and maybe get to third base, it's worth the $140.

Anonymous said...

so Gretchen Wilson and Nickelback dropped out? (see, when I'm anonymous I can be as snide and snobby as I like).

Anonymous said...

The long list posted earlier is missing

My Morning Jacket
Q Brothers
Amy Loftus
The Steps
The New Soul Invaders
Willy Mason
Nicole Atkins & The Sea

but is listing

Elvis Perkins In Dearland

who is currently not on the list

That adds up to 123 bands. Looks like there's more to come ...

Anonymous said...

One more snide comment and I'll call it a night:

One poster on the ACL message board says "Wow, How can this be legal?" My thoughts exactly...

Anonymous said...

If QOTSA plays a side show, or The White Stripes or Arctic Monkeys, I'd rather just go to that. Most of those other bands are just meh. And I saw the killers a few weeks ago. great job attal...not

Anonymous said...

This is such a jip. Jack White was an afternoon side-stage act last year, and this year he's a headliner.

Some jokes aren't as funny after the fact. With a list like this I'd welcome Neil Diamond.

Anonymous said...

Goddamn I can't believe how many of you are whining like fucking children.

Anonymous said...

why the fuck does Chicago get Pearl jam and we get the Stripes?

Anonymous said...

wow go to sleep people.....and go to another festival sheesh....dont buy your damn tickets before the lineup's released if you dont like it

Anonymous said...

No shit...boo fucking hoo. It's a great line-up overall. Stop being such fucking elitists. I'm from Austin, live in in Chattanooga (less than an hour from Bonnarroo, and can't wait for ACL. I hope you do all sell your tickets.

Anonymous said...

The only thing I don't like, is that The Killers got listed in big print. They are by far the most overrated band in this line-up. Has anyone else seen them live? They're terrible...Brandon Flowers is anyway. The rest of the line-up looks good to me.

Anonymous said...

With the exception of like 4 bands, a terrible lineup. Bigtime screwjob

Anonymous said...

Some people are whining about it being for geriatrics, and some are whining about it being for tweenie scenesters...

What?

This is a spectacular lineup. There is literally someone on here for EVERYONE. Whereas the headliners last year were very much from the same (great, IMO) pool, this year they're from three distinct music groups, so whatever your taste there's a headliner for you.

Besides, the middle tier is absolutely fantastic this year. Even the Lolla board is saying we trumped them in respect to the top half of the lineup.

Geez yall. Just chill. It's all good.

Anonymous said...

lolla's lineup is vastly superior...wicked screwjob

Anonymous said...

Okay, here's some balance. When I saw the Lollapalooza lineup this year, I thought it was unbelievably terrible. I always thought they were able to get good acts, and if the best they could do was Pearl Jam they should be embarassed.

Now, I think the ACL lineup is wonderful. Dylan's old, but a legend, so he's worthy. Bjork is weird/cool (her music is sketchy, but she's interesting) all the others in the top 20 or 30 are solid (which is an understatement). I don't know what y'all complaining about the old folks are talking about. Other than Dylan, who do you see that appeals to geriatrics?

Different strokes...... You losers enjoy the crappy Lollapalooza this year.

Anonymous said...

There is not one legitimate jam band on this damn list. This is pitiful.
